Activities Overview
Pool
Children swim each day Tuesday – Friday in the swimming pool. We have certified lifeguards who are also certified in First Aid/CPR. Some of our counselors are actively involved with the kids, while others are staying dry on land to assist the lifeguards in watching after children. The pool separates into 2 sections: deep for older kids and shallow for small kids. Those children who cannot swim are wearing floaties and are watched after very closely, so they only stay in the shallow area. Keep in mind that your children will need sunblock, and counselors will make sure to put it on every child.
Camp Games & Sports
Every camper participates in our camp games and sports rotation. They build skills, stamina, and have fun! Active campers love our games, including soccer, basketball, dodgeball, and more! Camp games are a very fast-paced and interactive activity for all campers to build up team-building skills and compete against other campers.
Arts and Crafts
Arts and crafts are one-way campers can get messy and creative! Each day there are different opportunities for crafts; whether it is painting, making slime, making bracelets, and so much more.
Water Activities
One of the favorite activities at Camp Journey is our water activities. Every day kids of all ages attend and have such a blast. Some of the water activities that we do are water balloon fights, blob, slip ‘n’ slide kickball, and waterslide.
Services
We have nighly services that each camper is required to go to. Services are split up by age to focus on topics they would understand. Younger kids stay in the cafeteria with a simplified service and older kids go to chapel with worship and a word. In this service, the spirit of God just overfills that place.
